The 2009 Champions for Children Celebration will be on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. at The Union League of Philadelphia. Discounted tickets are being offered to young professionals.
The event benefits CORA Services, a non-profit agency which has provided first-rate counseling, education, and referral services to children and their families in Philadelphia for almost 40 years.
In addition to networking with other business leaders, there will be delicious food and cocktails, and the opportunity to congratulate the three members of the community whom CORA Services will honor with its Champion for Children awards, recognizing extraordinary leadership in support of children. In addition to a teacher-nominated high-school student, CORA will honor a Corporate Champion for Children and a Civic Champion for Children. Pennsylvania Attorney General Tom Corbett will accept the 2009 Civic Champion for Children for his leadership in developing an Internet safety program called “Operation Safe Surf,” designed to help educate kids, parents and schools about the importance of being safe online. CORA is still in the selection process for Corporate Champion.
If you would like to receive an invitation, please contact Emily Mackell, Dunleavy & Associates at emackell@matchingmissions.com or (215) 470-5216.
