YPN volunteers were at Chew Playground in South Philadelphia this past Saturday for Greater Philadelphia Cares LOVE your Park Day. They joined other groups, from Drexel University and the community, to beautify the park. Activities included picking up trash, removing weeds from grass areas, mulching the trees and planting flowers. Chew Playground includes a recreation center, which provides sports programs for children K-12 as well day camps.
YPN has expanded its Volunteer Program by offering monthly activities through a partnership with Greater Philadelphia Cares. YPN also presents a “Volunteer of the Year” award to the YPN member which exemplifies the true spirit of volunteerism. For more information regarding this award, click here.
