Join YPN at Rumor Nightclub to welcome Mary Stengel Austen, President and CEO of Tierney Communications.

As a member of the Chamber’s Executive Committee, Ms. Austen will discuss the Chamber’s highest-priority goals for the upcoming year. The Executive Committee is responsible for overseeing the business operations of the Chamber, as well as approving the strategic objectives of the Chamber and all major policy decisions with respect to the Chamber’s position on matters of interest to the regional business community.

YPN and host Saint Joseph’s University are pleased to present the fifth “Unplugged” event with Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter. The Mayor will have a candid discussion with members of YPN about the state of the city and what YPN members and the business community can do to become more engaged in helping the City. The conversation will also include a dialogue on the factors that will make young professionals want to live, work, raise their families, and succeed in the Greater Philadelphia region. Join in the discussion and come prepared with questions.

Last spring, the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce partnered with Accenture to execute the Designed for Impact survey. The results of this survey provide relevant insight on the impact Greater Philadelphia businesses are making through diversity management practices.

Join the Young Professionals Network for this professional development forum to explore the diverse qualities that young professionals are bringing to the workplace, including their approaches to talent and culture. The program will feature Kristina Gilbert, Partner, Accenture and a panel of experts who will examine the results of the survey and explore how diversity and inclusion in the workplace pertains to young professionals now and in the future.

The YPN Professional Development Committee is excited to present a new program series called Know the CEO, designed to give YPN members the chance to talk to regional CEOs in an exclusive setting and learn how they became successful leaders within their fields. The series will kick off with Steve Ward, Chief Executive Officer, Master Matchmakers, and JoAnn Ward, Chairman and Founder, Master Matchmakers.

Best known for their successful matchmaking and TV series “Tough Love” on VH1, Steve and JoAnn Ward will lead a roundtable discussion to share how they have grown Master Matchmakers into one of the largest and most successful matchmaking services in the nation. Join us as the Wards discuss the opportunities and challenges of starting and running a business in Greater Philadelphia.
