Join YPN at one of the region’s top restaurants, R2L, to meet Mark Gale, CEO of the Philadelphia International Airport (PHL).

Set on the 37th floor of The Residences at Two Liberty Place, R2L offers expansive views of the Center City skyline and provides the perfect backdrop for Gale as he discusses the importance of PHL to Greater Philadelphia, the impact it has on our regional economy, and its latest development updates.

One of the largest economic engines in the state, PHL pumps $14 billion annually into the local economy and generates 42,000 jobs. In 2009, it accommodated 30.6 million passengers and handled almost 473,000 aircraft departures and landings.

As CEO of the PHL since 2009, Gale has been responsible for directing the activities of the City’s Division of Aviation, including PHL and Northeast Philadelphia Airport. He currently oversees the management of approximately 800 airport personnel.

Don’t miss this opportunity to network with young professionals and enjoy R2L’s modern twist on traditional décor and flavor! Additionally, attendees are encouraged to bring unopened water bottles to be collected by the YPN Volunteer Committee. Through a partnership with the United Service Organizations Inc. (USO), these bottles will be provided as refreshment to troops returning to PHL. USO is a private, nonprofit organization that provides morale and recreational services to members of the U.S. military.

Space is limited, so sign up now!

Join us for an upscale evening of networking, philanthropy and learning, and celebrate the true spirit of volunteerism.

Featured speaker Rosemary Turner, Vice President & COO of UPS, Metro Philadelphia District, will present the 3rd annual YPN Volunteer of the Year award to a YPN member who exemplifies the true spirit of volunteerism. Recipients are chosen based on the amount of volunteer hours spent at YPN volunteer events. The award recipient will receive $500 to donate to the charity of his or her choice.

Turner brings extensive management experience. Since beginning her UPS career in 1979, she has held various management positions at UPS that have utilized her diverse background in transportation, logistics, criminal investigation and organizational transformation toward process improvement. Currently, she leads over 15,000 employees.

Turner is also an active member of the Philadelphia community, serving on various boards, including the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, and volunteering for the American Diabetes Association, March of Dimes and as a mentor for young upcoming professionals. Turner will share her stories of success, her role with the GPCC, the importance of volunteerism, and much more!

YPN members are invited to further support volunteerism by “giving back” to students at McClure Elementary School in Hunting Park, who are in need of basic back-to-school uniforms and clothing items. Uniforms and gift cards can be purchased from the YPN McClure Wish List available at Walmart. Attendees may also bring cash donations to the event for personal clothing items, such as socks and undergarments. Help give a child a sense of confidence by providing these basic needs.

Purchase items from the YPN McClure Wishlist:
