Give back to the community
As a young professional, getting involved is important. That’s why we provide opportunities for our members to take on leadership roles within the organization and volunteer in the community. You’ll have fun, meet people who share your interests and concerns, and make a real difference in the lives of others. Volunteer outreach is a big part of our mission, because we know that through enriching our communities we are investing in the future of Greater Philadelphia.
Volunteer Opportunities
YPN provides several volunteer opportunities. We have partnerships with both Greater Philadelphia Cares and McClure Elementary School in North Philadelphia. We have also volunteered with WorkReady Philadelphia and Variety, The Children’s Charity. Last year, YPN members donated nearly 400 hours of their time to these organizations.
Because of YPN’s volunteer efforts last year:
- 85 children from McClure Elementary received brand-new toys last Christmas as part of our annual toy and book drive
- 175 third and fourth graders from McClure Elementary heard from YPN members during our annual Career & Education Day
- 575 children at McClure Elementary School returned from a weekend to freshly-painted, rainbow-colored halls, thanks to the effort of YPN volunteers on Greater Philadelphia Cares Day
- 100 children with special needs were able attend a Phillies game as part of an event in partnership with Variety, The Children’s Charity
Volunteer Of the Year Award
The YPN Volunteer Award is presented annually to a young professional that exemplifies the true spirit of volunteerism, through participation in YPN-sponsored volunteer programs. Recipients receive a $500 check to donate to the charity of their choice.
